Ultrasound / Sonography

Free AI Ultrasound Report Reader

An ultrasound is a live examination. What you go home with is a few frames the sonographer chose to freeze and print.

Upload your ultrasound image and get a free, structured AI radiology report — Findings, Impression and Recommendations — in seconds.

A printout or a phone photo works. That is usually all there is, and it is enough to start.

One report, two readings. Plain language and clinical terms in the same document — download as PDF or DOCX.

Questions after reading it? Ask them in a private chat attached to your own report — free account required.

a phone photo of the printout works — keep the scale bar and measurements in frame

Required · enter patient age (0–120)

Uploaded images are deleted after 30 days; your report stays.

No series to pick — and that is the point

Thermal printout

The most common form. Fades over months and photographs badly under overhead light — shoot it flat, in daylight.

Exported frames

A CD or portal link with a handful of JPGs, or single-frame DICOM files. Occasionally a short cine loop.

Written report only

Frequently the only thing handed over, since the images were never saved outside the machine.

There is no folder of hundreds of slices to sort through. The frames you have are the ones someone decided to keep during a moving examination, which is a different starting point from CT or MRI.

Words that only appear on an ultrasound report

Echogenicity
How strongly tissue reflects sound. Hypoechoic is darker than its surroundings, hyperechoic brighter, anechoic black.
Acoustic shadowing
A dark band behind something sound cannot pass — a stone, calcification or gas. The shadow itself is a finding.
Posterior enhancement
A brighter area behind a fluid-filled structure. The opposite pattern to shadowing, and equally a clue.
Doppler
Colour or spectral display of movement, usually blood flow. Colours are a scale, not anatomy.
Transducer / probe
The handpiece. Its frequency sets the trade-off between depth and detail, and the report often names which was used.
Measurement callipers
The crosses and dotted lines burned into the image. The numbers beside them are what the report quotes.

What a still frame does not carry

Stated up front, because it bounds anything read from the images.

Ultrasound is operator-dependent. What was examined, at what angle and with what settings, is decided live by the person holding the probe.

A frozen frame is a fraction of the exam. Motion, compressibility and flow over time are what the sonographer saw and the picture does not hold.

Gas and bone block the beam. Structures behind bowel gas or ribs may simply not have been visible on the day.

Burned-in numbers depend on correct calliper placement. Measurements are read from the image as printed, not re-derived.

Frequently asked questions

What ultrasound files can I upload?

Individual frames or still images exported from the ultrasound machine, screenshots, or clear photos of a printed ultrasound image — there's no series or folder step for ultrasound.

Why doesn't ultrasound need a DICOM series like CT or MRI?

Ultrasound is usually reviewed frame by frame in real time rather than as a stacked 3D series, so a single saved image or photo is typically what's available to upload.

Can I upload a photo of a printed ultrasound?

Yes. Take a clear, well-lit photo of the printed image with the on-screen measurements and labels visible, and upload it like any other image.

What does ‘echogenic’ mean on my ultrasound report?

It describes how much sound reflects back from a tissue and shows up on the image. ‘Hyperechoic’ tissue appears bright/white; ‘hypoechoic’ appears dark; ‘anechoic’ (like fluid) appears black.

What will my ultrasound analysis report include?

Your ultrasound analysis report includes a Simplified Explanation in plain language, plus clinical Findings, Impression, and Next Steps & Recommendations.

How long do you keep my uploaded scan?

Uploaded images are deleted 30 days after upload. Deleted files may remain in a recoverable backup for up to 7 more days. Original DICOM files, additional images and attachments are not stored by us: only one image per analysis is kept, for those 30 days. Your report and chat stay in your account until you delete them.
